Today I’ve prepared a recipe with carrots, mangoes, and pineapples all because they each share their own unique properties that are amazing for your health, so I figured they would taste good in a juice together as well.

I’ve just started on this juicing journey over the past couple of months and I can tell you that I feel 10 times better when I’m routinely adding this to my routine.

So for this combination, there were so many reasons why I decided to try them that I’m actually going to list the benefits of each ingredient separately, then you can download the recipe and try it for yourself to see what you think.

Disclaimer… I am not a nutritionist or health coach or anything like that.  I’m just an over 30-year-old mom, trying to make healthy decisions in life so I can keep up with my 2-year-old, lol.

I do, however, do a lot of research and have found pleasure in learning and really paying attention to what’s good for my body and how food affects my body, so my goal with sharing these types of recipes and such is to just inspire you to do the same.

Now that I got that off my chest, let’s chat, lol!

carrot pinapple mango juice recipe

Why I chose this combination of fruit and veggies…

Carrots

  1. High in fiber which encourages weight loss.  I’m in a little bit of a need to lose a couple of pounds, lol, so to know that drinking a carrot can help me get there makes me feel good about my decision, lol.
  2. High in lutein, lycopene, and Vitamin A which are all good for your eyesight.  I’ve always heard as a child that I should eat my carrots because it was good for my eyes, but as a child, I didn’t eat my carrots.  I actually couldn’t stand carrots as a kid, but now that I’m an adult I can eat a carrot raw or cooked and have a great time, but I’ve also found that I enjoy them in juices and smoothies as well, which is how it landed in this recipe
  3. Boost Skin Health.  This is important to me because even though I’m over 30 I still want to preserve my youth.  I’ve got 4 kids but I’m still a young mama so I’m always looking for ways to naturally take care of my skin and when I hear carrots can help in that area, I add them to my plate and my juice, lol.

Pineapple

  1. It’s great for immunity.  I don’t know about you but I’ve been on my ps and qs for everything to help me keep my immune system intact.  With COVID and flu season headed our way I just try to do my best to make sure I’m taking in all the vitamins in the purest form to keep my little ole immunity up.  Especially with kids, you know when they get sick you get sicker so its’ just been really important for me to add as many immune-boosting fruits and veggies to my diet as possible, especially during these times.
  2. It fights inflammation. Because I’ve added a few extra pounds and I haven’t always been nice to my body I suffer from a little inflammation from time to time, especially around my face, but what I’ve found when I drink my pineapple juice or add pineapples to my juices is that inflammation gets in check real quick.  Now granted I still got a little fluff in a few places, but with a little exercise, I’ll get that right on together, lol.  I’m still a work in progress friend, lol.
  3. It also helps with weight loss.  Pineapples contain no unhealthy fat, they are full of water and low on calories so that speaks wonders for my waistline that needs all the help it can get.  It too is also fiber-rich which is also good for your digestive system.  I’m doing my best over here to lose weight in the most natural way possible so adding as many as these types of fruits to my juice makes me feel like I’m conquering the world, lol.

Oranges

  1. Full of vitamin C.  If you haven’t noticed here I’m extremely concerned about my weight and my immunity lol.  I’ve always been a lover of oranges and quite honestly before I figured out all the rest of this nutritional stuff, I was adding an orange to anything because it is a citrus fruit and I love me some citrus fruits!!!  AND the fact that all of that vitamin C helps keep the germs away makes it even better for me.
  2. They’re great for controlling blood pressure.  When I had Summer, my last daughter, I had about a year run with high blood pressure due to Post Partum E-Clampsia, and one of the fruits that my physician recommended for me was oranges.  Consequently, I keep oranges at my house if I don’t keep anything else and everyone here loves them.  I don’t have the high blood pressure issues anymore, but it’s always in the back of my mind that it could come back, I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I’ve been on high preventing ever since so anytime I can add an orange they get added.  Not to mention it makes your juice smell really great too.
  3. Increases your focus.  I’m a blogger and the owner of a marketing agency ANNNNDDDD I homeschool my kids, I need all the focus I can get, lol.  So among many other things, sign me all the way up!

Mangoes (Besides the fact that I love anything that has Mango flavor in it, lol)

  1. They help with digestion and promote a healthy gut.  Now we’re friends here so I can be honest, I’ve not always been the best eater over the past year.  After I finished breastfeeding Summer last year I think I mentally went on an I can eat whatever I want to diet and not be affected, and boy was I wrong!  So consequently I’ve caused a lot of damage in the past year, and mango s one of those fruits that can help me repair that.  It’s said they contain high amounts of probiotic fibers which help in maintaining good bacteria in your gut.
  2. They too help with Immunity. Just like it’s other buddies, Mangoes carry quite a bit of Vitamin C and you can’t have too much vitamin c in my opinion.
  3. They also have tremendous weight loss aid abilities. The phytochemicals in the skin of the mango act as a fat burner which in conjunction with the probiotic fibers is a winning team for me.  And I wouldn’t ordinarily eat the skin of the mango so to juice it ensures I get those chemicals to aid in my fat burning process.

Peaches

I threw peaches in for the same reasons as I made carrots the first ingredient.  They provide the same benefits of the carrot just with a different taste.

I’ve learned that I love to eat and drink with my eyes and nose.  Peaches are apart of the rose family (bet you didn’t know that, lol), so they are extremely fragrant as well adding a nice little scent to the overall juice.

On a normal basis, I would add Ginger and Tumeric but for this recipe, I didn’t have any Tumeric so I just added the ginger.

Ginger

Ginger is one of my favorite ways to keep my inflammation down as well.

When I was pregnant it was the one thing that could help subside my nausea and I keep ginger root now to keep our immunity up.  In addition to adding it to my juices, we also drink ginger and lemon tea quite often.

We’ve been trying really hard to keep our immunity in check and Ginger is one of those staples that we would add to everything if it tasted right, lol.

Ginger can get kinda spicy so go easy on it and it’s got a strong taste so you don’t need too much.  I don’t peel mine when I’m juicing there’s no need.  I just make sure it’s washed properly and throw it in just like I would the orange.

How I Prepared It

We use a slow juicer in our home and we recently just got a new one by Kuvings, the model is the EVO820 and we love it.  If you want to know about it, you can go read “Juicing with my Kuvings EVO820 Slow Juicer“, and it will tell you all about the juicer and the benefits of using a slow juicer versus a fast one.

Just as an overview though, when you use a slow juicer, you’re doing something call Cold Pressing, which simply means your machine is slowly squeezing out the juice maintaining more of it’s a nutritional value compared to fast juicers that use a blade that warms at high speeds and ultimate cooks your nutrients out.

For me if I wanted to cook veggies I’ll roast them or grill them on the stove, I want my juice because of its nutritional benefits so we choose the slow juicer over anything else.
